Spec. 4/c U.S. Army, {RA14885367}, Vietnam War-Spec. Lawler was killed in action by small arms fire on 12-11-1966 while serving as an Infantryman {11B20} with Co. C of the 1st Battalion, 16th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. Spec. Lawler started his tour of Vietnam on October 7, 1966. He is the son of Mr. John E. Lawler, Sr. of 2941 SW 13th Court, Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and Mrs. Blanche B. Burns of 131 Wadsworth Road, Middletown, Connecticut, and is a 1962 graduate of the Streator School System, and he enlisted with the Army in McNabb, Illinois on 3-11-1965. Awards: Purple Heart Medal, Combat Infantry Badge, Vietnam Service Medal with One Service Star, Vietnam Campaign Medal, National Defense Service Medal.
